Jeff Hinshaw is the founder of Cosmic Cousins and a dedicated teachers in the realms of astrology and tarot. With fifteen years of experience, Jeff explores the intersection of these esoteric practices as tools for self-discovery, embodied health, and deeper learning.
Blending astrology, tarot, psychology, meditation, and somatic healing, Jeff’s approach is both intuitive and grounded, supporting individuals in reconnecting with their intuition.
Jeff Hinshaw is the author of Lonely Planet Travel Tarot, a guidebook and deck that blends tarot wisdom with global travel and cultural exploration.
In addition, Jeff hosts the weekly Cosmic Cousins podcast, where he shares astrology and tarot in a grounded, intuitive, and accessible way.
Jeff also offers both foundational teachings and advanced explorations, through his Substack, newsletter, and Instagram, including astrocartography, charting the relationship between the sky and the Earth to reveal pathways of place and purpose,
Jeff works one-on-one with clients through in-depth astrology readings, mentorships, and personalized tarot journeys, and also facilitates group readings, workshops, retreats, and community gatherings.
As an astrologer, Jeff’s research has been devoted to planetoids and asteroids, including Chiron, Eris, Black Moon Lilith, Pallas, Vesta, Juno, Ceres, White Moon Selena, and Hygeia, expanding astrology through a mythic, feminist, and gender-expansive lens. His work invites deeper psychological insight, healing, and reclamation of overlooked narratives within the astrological tradition.

Advocacy & Community
Jeff is also a vocal advocate for inclusivity in astrology, uplifting LGBTQ+, BIPOC, feminist, and interdisciplinary voices within the field.
Education & Background
Jeff holds a BA in Psychology and a BFA in Creative Writing from the University of North Carolina Wilmington. He has also completed certification in the Psychology of the Chakra System with Anodea Judith at Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health, along with two 200-hour yoga teacher trainings.
Roots
Formerly based in New York City, Jeff
led the tarot community the Fools Journey at Maha Rose
taught restorative yoga and
founded City Wolf, a holistic dog walking and pet sitting service.
Present Day
Jeff now lives in Southern California, where he devotes his full-time energy to astrology, tarot, and community building.
